Peat substrate for orchids is a specialized substrate that provides optimal conditions for growing orchids, including the correct level of humidity, aeration and support of the root system. It consists of high-quality peat, which is the main component, as well as other additives that improve its properties.

Use:

Ideal for growing and caring for various types of orchids, such as phalaenopsis, dendrobium, cattleya and others, transplanting them, providing the necessary conditions for the adaptation of the plant to a new pot and stimulating its growth, as well as maintaining an optimal level of humidity around the root system, which is important for successful cultivation of orchids at home.

Instructions for use:

  1. It is desirable to transplant orchids after flowering or during the rest period, when the plant is not actively growing.

Before transplanting, remove the orchid from the pot carefully. Remove the old substrate from the roots by untangling them and cutting out damaged, dry or rotten roots. Use a sterile pruning tool.

  1. Choose a pot with a good drainage system. The bottom of the pot should have enough holes for drain of excess water.

Wash and disinfect the pot thoroughly before use, especially if it has been used before.

  1. Put a small layer of substrate on the bottom of the pot.

Place the orchid in the pot so that its roots are located freely, without placing the base of the plant too deeply.

  1. Fill the space between the roots with the substrate carefully, firming it with your fingers. It is important that the roots are evenly covered, but not strongly compacted.

Make sure that the plant is securely held in the pot, but not too tightly so that the roots can "breathe".

  1. After transplanting an orchid, it is recommended not to water it for 2-3 days to allow the damaged roots to heal and prevent them from rotting.

First watering should be done with soft settled or rainwater. Then, water the orchid depending on the type and conditions of care.

Composition: light raised-bog peat, YaraMila fertilizer, pine bark, sphagnum.

Main characteristics:

  • high ability to retain moisture, providing the root system with the necessary amount of water without its stagnation
  • the structure of the product allows the roots of orchids to "breathe", which is critically important for their health and active growth
  • balanced (usually in the range of 4,5-6,0) acidity (pH), which meets the needs of most types of orchids.
  • рН:
    4,5-6,0

HISTORY

The deposit “Pid Borom” is a legendary place with amazing deposits of peat, where, according to many legends and tales of local residents, real dwarfs live. For difficult, but very useful work, they were called “peat dwarfs” among the people.

“Rozhniativ Torf” became the owner of the deposit “Pid Borom” and, remembering its small inhabitants, entered into an agreement with the chief dwarf.

Under the terms of the agreement, the peat dwarfs will assist people in peat mining, having an opportunity to expand their underground holdings.

For its part, “Rozhniativ Torf” provided the dwarfs with modern equipment and tools for work, supporting their principles of careful extraction.
